DREAM ON

We should all dream, and encourage others to do so too. Dreaming is one of humanity’s greatest gifts; it champions aspiration, spurs innovation, leads to change, and propels the world forward. In a world without dreams there would be no art, no adventure, no moon landing, no female CEOs, and no civil rights. What a half-lived and tragic existence we would have.

Speaking on the importance of dreaming, American entrepreneur, author and humanitarian activist, Dan Pallotta said: “I believe that dreams, taken seriously… are the most sophisticated things known to humanity…  A great dream drives innovation – it doesn’t happen the other way around. A great dream drives collaboration – it doesn’t happen the other way around.”

Don’t be self-conscious about dreaming, or about people thinking you’re too idealistic, and not serious enough. Don’t allow your self talk to be judgmental. Look at the world with wide-eyed enthusiasm, believe you are more powerful than the problems that confront you, and dream big.

The benefits of dreaming far outweigh the perceived risks, because the value of dreaming isn’t just measured by the outcome, but the inspiration that comes from journey of achieving the dream.

As Dan said: “When we show people that something is possible that they didn’t think was possible it does more than just change things. It changes the way people think about the possibility of things changing. It helps them see that life is not the same day-after day, unsurprising, unending drudgery that so much of life teaches them that it is. And that is a huge contribution to their humanity.”

Dream big and you will be presented with the opportunity to lead the world on an incredible adventure.

{BY: RICHARD BRANSON}

Richard Branson is a person I find very inspirational. This article  could not have been written any better. I have always been a dreamer. I would have these wild fantasies and visions of doing and achieving great things in my life. Yeah some were bigger than others but I knew there were many benefits of dreaming. Especially dreaming big. Heck, I have one hell of an imagination (at least I think I do)….I used to have an imaginary friend named Imagination…So you can only imagine how big I dream!

Dreaming involves holding on to a vision that we see in life. One that could be better. It’s the greatest gift we are given in life. As Richard Branson said, “it champions aspiration, spurs innovation, leads to change, and propels the world forward.” Would you agree? If we did’t dream there would be no excitement or moments to experience. Life would be half lived. Dreams won’t come true overnight but you can work at them every day to make them come true.

One of the biggest problems I see in people today is that they give up on their dream. Why? There are going to be setbacks and failures along the way but that is life. Nothing comes easy. Having a mind frame of knowing it will be well worth it in the end will help guide you to success. Just because one thing didn’t go your way are supposed to throw in the towel and quit? Absolutely not! You are not a quitter. You are stronger than that. That is part of learning. Think about it this way..If you can take on a super tough time in your life, then you’ll be able to conquer anything thrown your way. Tough times are what make us stronger. Yeah they might break you along the way here and there but you have to know how to pick yourself up and keep fighting. Don’t let it define you.

OR…another problem I see is negativity. Let me explain. Say you have a dream and you share it with someone and the comment you get back is “psh, keep dreaming.” If that is not negativity then I don’t know what is. Yeah some things may seem drastic but nothing is impossible. But, a comment like that makes you second guess your dream. Everything is possible, regardless of how big or hard it may be. Possibility requires dedication and commitment. If you have those two then you are golden my friend!

Confucius once said “If you shoot for the stars and hit the moon, it’s OK. But you’ve got to shoot for something. A lot of people don’t even shoot.”

You can’t sit there every day waiting for something to happen. You have that power to make something happen. Gosh, I go crazy sitting around, I feel like I am wasting my day away. There is always something to be doing, no matter what. Think of all the opportunities you are missing by waiting for them to happen on their own. That’s like waiting for your laundry to get done or your bed to make itself. I mean if that was the case no one would ever have to lift a finger. Okay…minus the cars out there that are basically driving on their own now (scary thought), it still requires some sort of effort from you.

“Thoughts are things, what you think you become. No words have been truer. If you’re a dreamer, dream big and see those dreams as clearly and vividly as the light of day. Write them out in great detail Don’t allow other people to discourage you just because your dreams are big. They should be big enough to scare you half to death. That’s when you know you’ve got hold of something worthwhile.”

Wanderlust Worker could not have said that any better…All those thoughts you think you can become. Even more, those thoughts need all your focus. For instance, lets say you go to dinner with friends and all your hear is a kid screaming the whole time. You say that dinner was awful because all you heard was a child screaming. But your friends said the dinner was nice. The problem was you chose to give your focus to something else instead of what your main goal was for the night…to have a nice dinner with friends. What you focus on, you get more of. What you dream and think needs all your focus to achieve great things. You can’t get caught up in the bullshit because it will hinder you.

Never stop dreaming. Even more ALWAYS dream big, nothing less. If your dreams don’t scare you then they are not big enough. The only person stopping you from making your dreams your reality is YOU. Believing in yourself is a major factor for growth and success. The reason many of us tend to fail is because we become our worst enemy. You have to constantly believe in yourself. Learn to let the nonsense go and fight for what you want. Everyone has the power of doing so it’s just a matter if we apply ourselves or not. Have dedication and commitment that you are going to fight every day for what you want, regardless of what is thrown your way. If you want your dream to become your reality, then I encourage you to go for it…always.
